Primary Connect has commenced construction of a new liquor distribution centre in Western Sydney.
The 35,000 sqm Kemps Creeks Liquor Distribution Centre (DC) will be located at 2 Adlington Road, Kemps Creek in the strategically located Oakdale West Industrial Estate.
The DC will be managed by Primary Connect and service more than 400 Dan Murphy’s and BWS outlets and ALH hotels across New South Wales under a partnership agreement with Endeavour Group.
Endeavour Group General Manager Supply Chain, Angus McFadyen said: “We’re excited about the development of a bespoke drinks distribution centre in Western Sydney.
“We carry more than 4,000 different products in our NSW stores from hundreds of suppliers, stocking everything from craft beer and small batch spirits to award-winning wines.
“This purpose-built facility will help make the movement of goods easier for our suppliers and simpler for our stores.
“It will also ensure our customers can continue to rely on us to find a wide variety of drinks to discover and support our purpose of creating a more sociable future together.”
The site is expected to start operations in 2022 and will provide employment for around 230 people. A further 200 jobs will be supported during construction.
Primary Connect Acting Managing Director, Chris Brooks said: “We’re delighted to partner with Endeavour Group on a brand new development to deliver improved service to their store teams.
“It’s a major commercial agreement for Primary Connect, which recognises the scale and capability we can offer to external partners.
“Importantly, the project will also deliver hundreds of new jobs in the fast-growing Western Sydney Aerotropolis.”
At full capacity, more than 475,000 cartons will move through the Kemps Creek Liquor DC each week bringing Endeavour Group customers products from more than 300 suppliers.
It will replace the current Erskine Park Liquor DC, which will be converted into an ambient grocery facility for Woolworths Supermarkets.
