Primary Connect has been simplifying the way its produce growers book transport with the introduction of a 24/7 online booking portal.
The portal provides a faster and easier way to book, move and deliver goods as well as 24/7 visibility of all bookings and their current status.
The one-stop-shop prevents the need to manually book and process every job or follow up on queries such as when legs or loads change.
Twenty-six growers have already been onboarded since the portal launched in August last year.
More than 55,000 pallets from 2,100 bookings have been moved so far using the new portal.
Carrier partners have also been benefitting from the portal with the same visibility and access to things like digitally-managed consignment notes, thereby improving efficiency all round.
The booking system was originally created to cater for last year’s mango season, one of the biggest calendar events of the year for the Primary Connect Produce team. Plans are now in place to expand to other fresh produce lanes of work.
The most popular products moved using the new portal have been mangoes (representing half of all bookings) followed by melons and pumpkins.
