Primary Connect’s first branded road train has hit the highway and is now moving huge quantities of fresh produce from the Northern Territory into South Australia.
Through Primary Connect’s partnership with ABC Transport, refrigerated road trains like this one are now doing more daily services out of the Northern Territory in the safest, freshest way possible.
ABC Transport transports fresh produce such as mangoes and melons into Adelaide to meet connecting services to the eastern states.
The road train can carry up to 64 pallets compared to 34 pallets in a B-double, thus being more efficient with less truck movements on our roads.
Tony Krezo, Senior Business Development Manager for Primary Connect, said: “We’re excited to see this key partnership greatly expand our capacity to connect growers and customers, and build efficiency throughout our operation.”
“A huge thank you to Mark Wiegman from Primary Connect and Steve Bartkowski from ABC Transport for helping make this a reality.”
Steven Bartkowski, National Operations Manager at ABC Transport, said he was proud to be able to support communities and growers who rely on these types of services to feed the nation.
“We have seen additional volumes come through Primary Connect which has enabled us to grow our service from a single leg out of the Northern Territory to multiple road train services daily from Darwin to Adelaide,” Steven said.
“The partnership we have with Primary Connect ensures produce is transported safely, efficiently and effectively.”
