We partner with over 1,300 suppliers to get their products into the homes of customers all around Australia. Whenever new suppliers come on board, it’s exciting to watch their businesses grow.
Ashleigh Perdriau, UP Range and Supplier Development Manager for Woolworths Food Group, works with new smaller suppliers to get their products into Woolworths Supermarket and Metro stores.
“Last year we were in the process of onboarding a lot of small and regional suppliers for our Double Bay store in Sydney’s east.”
“These suppliers make premium and specialty grocery products such as Indigenous spices, dehydrated fruit slices and seaweed flakes.”
“The majority had never worked with a supermarket before or delivered into a distribution centre so we asked Primary Connect to work on a solution to easily connect these suppliers with our DC network.”
We were able to create a solution to help these small suppliers easily navigate delivery into its DCs. This included incorporating regional courier drop-off locations and using Toll couriers to consolidate where possible.
“Using Primary Connect has helped us to vastly reduce the amount of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) products going into the Double Bay store which was a challenge previously,” Ashleigh said.
“This also means our new suppliers are in a much better position when we do range them into additional stores as it gives them access to more stores without adding multiple delivery sites.”
The Primary Connect team were heavily involved in the onboarding process for the new suppliers such as guiding them through the delivery process and finding more cost-effective solutions.
